FAQs

The following are top frequently asked questions about hair extensions and purchasing online from Volure. If we haven’t answered your question below, please feel free to call or email us any time.

Does Volure have a physical store that I can visit? Yes. We welcome you to our flagship store in Ferndale, Randburg to feel and touch and physically experience our products. We also install and style for clients who purchase from us. Visit our Contact Page for the latest trading hours.

How does your online shopping process work? Ordering online from Volure is very simple. Simply browse and choose from our selection of products. When you find what you like, select the length, colour, style and/or quantity of your choice and then click “Add to Cart” to move your desired products to the shopping cart. When you are done shopping and are ready to pay, click on the Cart icon and proceed to Checkout. You will then be directed to a secure section where you can enter your details and make payment. Once you have made payment, Volure will confirm your order and notify you when your order is actually shipped to you. Orders whose payments are received before 11:00am on Monday through Friday will be shipped the same day. Orders whose payments are received after 11:00am on Friday, or on Saturday and Sunday will be shipped on Monday. Delivery typically takes 2-3 business days depending on where you are in South Africa.

How do I track my order? Some of our couriers have package tracking capabilities – if your order is shipped via one of these couriers, we will provide you with the details to allow you to track your shipment in real time. Some of our couriers do not have this capability, but if at any time you have questions about your order, simply email or call us.

Are my purchases safe? Yes. All Volure transactions are done via a secure encrypted network. This means that your information is protected and cannot be easily accessed by unintended parties.

Does Volure store my credit card details? No. By law, nearly all online merchants cannot accept sensitive credit card information by themselves, but instead must use a third party payment gateway to process credit card transactions. This ensures that sensitive financial data is handled only by companies with the necessary systems and procedures to guard against fraud and misuse.

I am looking for _______ but cannot find it online. Does Volure sell it? We may. We only offer some of our products for direct online purchase. There are a large number of products that are available through our shop. Simply call us at 011 787 1707 or email us at sales@volure.co.za to see if we have what you are looking for. These products are also available for delivery.

Which hair type is the best? Is it Brazilian, Indian, Malaysian or Peruvian? We don’t believe that any one type is inherently better than the other. It really depends on the type of texture you want (and what matches your natural hair). Brazilian hair is typically very soft with hair strands that are moderately thick. The hair has substantial body and a natural shine. Indian hair is thinner than Brazilian hair, but because of this, it is typically easier to manage. Malaysian hair is a bit of a hybrid between Brazilian and Indian – it has a thickness similar to Brazilian hair but is just as easy to manage and style as Indian hair. Our Malaysian hair typically comes with a sleek feel and a natural shine. Peruvian hair is perhaps the most unique – it is coarser than the other hair types and so can undergo a lot of curling and straightening without breaking. It is also the thickest among the hair types, so it provides instant volume. That said, Peruvian hair sometimes takes more effort to style and manage because of these features. At the end of the day, it depends on how you want your hair to feel and how closely you want to match your own natural hair – this is what should determine whether you get Brazilian, Indian, Malaysian or Peruvian hair.

How long will my hair extensions / lace wig last?

All our hair extensions and lace wigs are designed to last between for at least 6 months, and often last for 1 year or more.  Please note that clients do not wear any of our extensions or wig products continuously for 1-2 years, but rather install them for increments of 1-2 months, taking a break in between to try different styles

Can I bleach or colour my hair extensions / lace wig?  Yes. All our virgin hair products can be bleached and dyed to practically any colour. That said, we typically recommend against bleaching or dyeing your hair as it dries out the hair, especially for non-straight styles.  We suggest to our clients to pick the colours they want from the beginning to avoid these hassles, and if they want to colour or highlight their products that they come to our store and have this done professionally. This way you can be sure that you get exactly what you want.

Can I curl and straighten my extensions / lace wig? Yes. Because the hair used in all of our products is natural human hair they can be blow dried, and curled and straightened. As with colouring we recommend that clients pick the styles they are most likely to use each day.  For example if you are likely to wear your hair in curls, we recommend you get wavy or curly extensions or wig. This way, you do not put your hair through unnecessary stress. We recommend against straightening hair that is very wavy or very curly.  Remember this is real hair, so the more stress you put it through, the shorter its lifespan will be.

Do you offer a guarantee? Yes we do. If you notice any defects within 2 weeks, please bring or ship the hair back and we will exchange it for another set of equal or lesser value. We advise clients to read our care instructions and ask us any question about maintaining the hair. This is because we cannot be held responsible for defects that emerge from poor maintenance. But even if this case, we will do our best to assist you.
